THE ROLE:

As a Registered Nurse you will show warmth and support to the residents, helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the quality of lives of the individuals in your care. You will predominantly providing direct care to people.

Your duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the person but can include:

·Ensuring the highest possible levels of care is maintained. By supporting/assisting and assessing people, when required, with washing, dressing, and all other aspects of daily living.

·Accurately recording observations in accordance with the persons conditions and needs

·Administering Medications

·Carrying out risk assessments

·Identifying and managing a person’s nursing needs

·Monitoring care delivery

·Providing quality end of life care

·Being able to carry out all core Nursing skills especially – Catheterisation, IV medication, syringe drivers, venepuncture and wound care.

·Assisting residents in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Providing attention when needed, whilst ensuring residents retain their comfort and dignity.

·Paying particular attention to assisting residents who have limited mobility, or physical difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.

·Providing quality end of life care – assisting in the delivery of care for people who are dying or who have a progressive illness.

·Observing care planning needs for people and completing daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

·Answering nurse call system and giving assistance as required.
